Energy is crucial for quality of life and prosperity. It must be available in a sustainable manner. In this sense, the energy transition fundamentally changes the traditional energy system. This process takes time and can only be achieved based on public consent. The Advisory Board of the Energy Center tries to bridge the gap between university, industry, regional administration and to promote dialogue.

The managing committee of the advisory board was first elected in 2007 at the founding assembly at the Darmstadt Residence Palace. One third of the members of this committee are individual members, company members and administrative bodies, in addition to the spokesperson of TU Darmstadt Energy Center.
The managing committee of the advisory board acts as a jury for awarding the energy prize, an award for excellent theses and dissertations in the field of energy research.
